What Happened When Met In Dressing Room After Brazil Vs Argentina

Neymar and Lionel Messi held face-to-face talks after Tuesday night’s Copa America semi-final between Brazil and Argentina in Belo Horizonte.

Messi’s hopes of leading Argentina to Copa America glory were brought crashing down as they fell to a 2-0 defeat to the Selecao.

Gabriel Jesus and Roberto Firmino scored the goals as the hosts booked a final place – leaving Barcelona superstar Messi to fume over “bulls**t” officiating.

Neymar, Brazil’s talisman, is missing the competition due to an injury suffered in the warm-up match against Qatar, but was in the stands to witness Tite’s side’s victory.

And in the immediate aftermath, he left his box at the Mineirao and made his way into the dressing room area.

There, he met Messi, his former Barcelona teammate who is, according to reports in Spain, playing a key role in the Catalan side’s bid to take the Paris Saint-Germain superstar back to Camp Nou.

The duo were involved in a brief embrace as Messi made his way back to the Argentina dressing room immediately after the final whistle.

However, according to Sport, it didn’t stop there.

Neymar would join his countrymen in their dressing room to celebrate the victory but apparently met with Messi again “for several minutes”.

It’s claimed that “this is not a casual meeting” and is the latest move by the 27-year-old as he looks to push for his exit from the French capital back to Catalunya.

The duo were conquered Europe as part of Luis Enrique’s side in 2015, before Neymar bought out his contract for £200million to move to PSG in 2017 – seeking to get out of Messi’s shadow to mount his own Ballon d’Or bid.

That however simply hasn’t happened, and with Barcelona and Messi, now 32, desperate to win Europe’s biggest prize once more, they’re ready to take Neymar back to the club – despite public denials.

Neymar is keen to return to Camp Nou and has already told PSG chiefs privately of his desire to “return home.”

PSG are determined to force Neymar to publicly declare that he wants a switch back to his former club; it is both a face-saving exercise and a desire to get their initial outlay back, while Barcelona are keen to negotiate on the price.

Last week Barcelona vice-president Jordi Cardoner confirmed that Neymar wants to return.

“The correct thing is to say that Neymar wants to return to Barcelona.”
