The Barcelona legend, Lionel Messi made time for the young boy, who was clearly delighted to meet his hero.
Lionel Messi is known for being a humble man on a football pitch, but he proved this extends to his personal life in a video that has recently emerged online.
The clip was captured after a game between Barcelona and Real Betis, and shows Andres Guardado holding his young son in the tunnel next to the away dressing room.
The Mexican Betis midfielder waits for Messi to surface – presumable because his son is a big fan – and was no doubt overwhelmed by what happened next.
Instead of merely greeting the excited youngster, Messi started off by giving him a high-five before taking him off Guardado for a hug.
After chatting away to him for a while, he then posed for a picture with the child, as Guardado dutifully snapped away on his smart phone.
The video only recently emerged on social media after it was posted to I nstagram by Guardado’s wife, and is currently being shared by Barcelona fans pointing out just how kind their talisman is.
Messi’s Barcelona side have two more International Champions Cup fixtures before their 2018/19 La Liga campaign gets underway.
The Catalan club take on Roma on the first day of August before going head to head with their Serie A rivals AC Milan a week later.
